om namo brhmahye namah......

SRaaDH`DH
THE ETERNAL AND EVERGREEN
EXPRESSION OF
CONTINUITY & GRATEFULNESS
IN CREATION

mHimaa = GLORY, MAJESTY, MIGHT AND POWER
 OF WORSHIPPING PITRUO

veD has prescribed acknowledgement of the continuity of our relationship and welfare with our pitruo (ancestors) who are aadi-devo, pitru-devo and our family lineage pitruo (ancestors)....

sanak-muni, the mind born son of brahmaa-dev explains in naarad puraan slok 1.25.83-84, 85 to 90 the mahimaa, meaning, the glory, majesty and power of  SRaaDH`DH offering ......

"In reality, vishnu-dev (in the naam (name) and ruup (form) of brhmah has been worshipped by those who worship pitruo. If the ishvar (Lord) of the universe is pleased, the devo and devio are also pleased. (ishvar of the universe is brhmah)

It is sanaatan (eternal) hari-self  (= brhmah-self) who manifests as pitruo, devo and devio, gandharva, apsaraa, yaKSsha, siddha and human beings.

The person who performs SRaaDH`DH and who partakes of it - everyone (of these persons) is vishnu-dev who is the sanaatan (eternal) ishvar (Lord) from whom the entire universe including the mobile and immobile beings has originated.

Whatever exists, whatever does not exist, the visible and the invisible  - everything should be known as identical with vishnu-dev (brhmah). There is nothing else other than that.

vishnu-dev (= brhmah) is the being that supports the universe;
 vishnu-dev (= brhmah) is the aatmaa of all living beings;
 vishnu-dev (= brhmah) comprises all beings in the self (brhmah-self);
 vishnu-dev (= brhmah) is unchanging and incomparable prakruti (nature).
 vishnu-dev (= brhmah) is the ishvar (Lord)
 who partakes the havya (oblations given in yagna to devo)
 and
 kavya (oblations given to pitruo).

janaaardan (vishnu-dev = brhmah) is the only ishvar who can be called para-brhmah (supreme brhmah who is nirgun brhmah and who is unmanifested). The sanaatan (eternal) vishnu-dev does everything by self and makes everyone do so.

Thus, the excellent procedure of SshraaDdh vidhi has been narrated to you. paap (sins) of those who perform SshraaDdh with dharma and bhakti perish instantaneously and the pitruo are delighted and his progeny flourishes."

(SRii chmpklaal Daajibhaai miisTRii, the compiler of the above GNaan, convey pranaam to our guru Dr. G. V. Tagore from whose English translation of the sanskrit naarad puraan we have been blessed with the above knowledge of how SshraaDdh offering to our pitruo for the bhaagya (fortune) of acquiring all the prosperity, growth and glory in life ......the above slok is expanded with explanatory prose to make our learning and understanding easier...also explanatory prose in included in brackets to give backgrounder ved knowledge to provide supplementary explanation for increasing the depth of our knowledge of life sciences.....).

.......om  brhmah namah....
....our guru brhmah..
.....om tat sat....om shaanti shaanti....
